First Arabic Certificate Issued by IDL
The new Dubai-based International Diamond Laboratories (IDL)has issued its first Arabic-language Diamond Certificate, the company stated yesterday.
The certificate was presented to Tamjid Abdullah, the deputy managing director of Damas Jewelery, for a 24-carat pear shaped diamond.
“Creativity and customization are of high strategic significance for IDL as they enable us to build on our service offering to better serve our clients,” Ahmed bin Sulayem, vice chairman of the IDL stated. “With diamonds becoming increasingly popular in the Middle East region, the first ever Arabic language diamond certificate is an adequate representation of IDL’s innovative services, and reflects our commitment to Arab consumers.”
Abdullah also added that the Arabic certification service would prove useful to traders and buyers in realizing the true value of a diamond and stated that for international trade purposes, the diamond grade and color would be written in English, while the remaining aspects such as the weight, cut and clarity are listed in Arabic.
