The Bangkok Gem Fair
The 40th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair (BGJF) will not only present tremendous opportunities for trading, business matching, networking and a feast for the eyes, but offers an excellent platform for rich learning as well.
Held in parallel with the fair, slated on September 18-22, the Conference provides an active forum to hear from international experts on the issues key to the jewel industry’s growth including market and design trends and production technical challenges.
It is organized to facilitate an open exchange of technology, ideas, best practices, and the experiences most relevant to the gems and jewelry industry.
Among the highlights of the conference is a presentation by Birgit Rieder, Head of Gem Creative, Synthetic and Gemstone of Swarovski, who will unveil a pioneering GemVisions 2008 trend research.
Dr Rieder will present 208 trends revealed through in-depth market research developed by Signity’s ground breaking GemVisions trends forecasting service.
His presentation will be vividly illustrated by exciting fashion shows based on creations inspired by highlighted design themes, including bejeweled headpieces by jeweler Shuan Leane for the couturier Alexander McQueen, both of London.

Meanwhile, preparations to stage one of Asia’s most dazzling jewel shows is in the final stage for smooth launch at the 100,000-sqm one-floor exposition hall of Challenger.
BGJF provides an exciting business-to-business platform to link and network with more than 1,500 exhibitors from over 35 countries, as well as offering the opportunity to meet the who’s who of the global jewelry community.
It is a place to see the latest and unique collections, find couture designers and producers in a venue alive with multimedia presentations, dazzling fashion shows, design awards and other special events.
